The girls (some going as far back as elementary, but all from academy) came over last night for what has become our Annual Christmas Gathering at my place. Kristina came in late from Savannah, and Charity made it this year! Cheryl came all the way in from Norway (not just for us, but for the season in general!). The only one missing from the clique was Debbie, who is floating around somewhere in Flordia.
Kristina brought along with her a scrapbook she had made of some of our academy activities. She had a few photo collages, from late in our freshman year (I know this because I didn’t chop my hair off till almost summer, and my hair was shorter in the pictures.) We all looked formidable! Might sound a little concieded, but I think I’ve changed the most. One of the things that had us laughing the hardest is the look back at the little newsletter that we started our Freshman year, that we attempted school wide publishing… oh the irony of what we all do now! The screams over the formatting and multiple fonts, not to mention lack of Photoshop was hillarious.
It’s really cool to every year get together and go over things that happened the year before. I made the joke/prediction last year that by next year (this year) someone else would have to be pregnant and someone else would either be engaged or married, before I managed to rack up another one of those “biggie” life things. (It’s always been kinda laughed about in a way among the clique that I’m the one who lives the entertaining soap opera life with constant changing plot as compared to the somewhat more quiet and normal lives of the others.) Thankfully this year I was off the hook for those (well, save for divorce #2), because Andrea is pregnant, and Becky is engaged. The funny thing is those two dates are only a week apart! So the same “prediction” is on for next year, there will be someone else pregnant, and there will be someone else engaged or married, hopefully no more divorces.
Cheryl (Back home from working PR stuff Norway for the Holidays)
Becky (The one getting married this June, working with in the PR/Publications dept. at the SDA General Confernce in Georgia)
Andrea (The one who’s pregnant – doh…. working as assistant promotions director at Olan Mills)
Charity (The beautition of the group, looking at trying her hand at going into Real Estate)
Kristina (Came up from Savannah, where she’s in graudate school for Graphic Arts, and works as a Graphic Artist for some cookie company… most likely to be engaged by next year)
Gotta love the timer option on the camera!
